Every great adventure begins with curiosity—and sometimes all it takes is a story to inspire it.
North Star Adventures invites young readers to become explorers: to ask questions, make discoveries, notice the world around them, and experience the joy of learning through adventure.
Created by children’s author and former elementary school teacher Tracie Cicchitti, the series blends storytelling, exploration, nature, and interactive learning to help children discover that some of the greatest adventures begin simply by being curious.

An author visit should be more than simply hearing a story—it should give children the opportunity to become part of it.
During a North Star Adventures visit, Tracie brings young readers into the world of the books through storytelling, conversation, discovery, and age-appropriate interactive experiences.
Children are encouraged to ask questions, share observations, use their imaginations, and discover what it means to become a North Star Explorer.
Programs can be adapted for schools, classrooms, libraries, reading programs, and community events.

What Can a North Star Visit Include?
Interactive Storytelling
Experience North Star Adventures: Passport to Nature and discover the real places, wildlife, and experiences that inspired the story.
Meet the Author
Learn how an idea becomes a book—from the first spark of inspiration to writing, illustrating, and finally holding the finished book in your hands.
Explorer Activities
Observation, questions, wildlife discoveries, Explorer challenges, and other activities can turn students from listeners into participants.
Ask the Author
Children get the opportunity to ask questions about writing, books, animals, adventures, and what it's like to be an author.
Book Signing & Meet-and-Greet
When appropriate, visits may also include opportunities for personalized books and a special moment for young readers to meet the author.
Designed for Young Explorers
North Star Adventures programs are especially suited for elementary-age children and can be adapted to fit the age, size, and needs of each group.
Whether visiting a classroom, school library, public library, bookstore, or community program, the goal remains the same:
to help children leave a little more curious than when they arrived.

The adventure doesn't have to end when the book closes.
